Mes Amies, I'm happy to be a part of the One World One Heart international blogging event!
Last year 1,000 bloggers particpated in OWOH and this year I wanna be blogger 1,001. OWOH originator Lisa Swifka says it's like a giant open house, going from one blog to another traveling all around the world -- and you don't even have to worry about getting an unwanted body search/pat down by the TSA! On Mondays, I post a digital scan of an antique postcard for artists and crafters to download for free. Sometimes, like last Monday, it can be two freebies.
I recently started Traveling Tuesdays where I reminisce about one of my 6 trips to France. Last Tuesday I went to Avignon and shared my adventures as a street walker. That's street walker, not streetwalker:)
Wordless Wednesdays don't work well for me cause I tend to talk too much. I've got way too much to say when it comes to my passion of Edwardian postcard images and illustrations.
I like to think of Thursdays as Therapeutic or Thankful ... or whatever! Like I said, I never run out of great postcards or French ephemera to share. An image, a mystery, some translation fun, a creative challenge, a mail art contest .... the possibilities are 'beaucoup'!
And on Fridays, I have a great craft project presented by a monthly Artist-in-Residence. This month's AIR is Lynne Moncrief from Scotland!
Although I dream of living in France, the reality is I live in the northwestern United States and that reality ain't too bad! So sometimes on my blog I also share photos of my piece of paradise straddling the Columbia River that forms the Oregon/Washington border.
My blog is also part diary, so I write about things going on in my life: a husband underfoot, mammograms, hot flashes, and the Big O -- that's O as in organized. I have 8,000+ French postcards which I'm in a perpetual state of trying to organize!

One lucky winner will receive a vintage Paris wall hanging and a 1932 Eiffel postcard. The wall hanging is a lovely substantial piece -- I'm not sure what kind of metal it is made of, but it weighs just over 1/2 pound! Genius that I am, I wrapped it up before measuring it:) But I guess-timate it is about 5 inches wide and 4 inches tall, not including the hanging chain. From the half-circle details at each side, which are very Art Deco in design, I believe this Paris souvenir dates from the 1920s or 1930s.

With those dates in mind, I wanted you to have an Eiffel Tower postcard from the same time period, so voila! And this one has the special souvenir stamp: Souvenir de la Tour Eiffel.


Here's a view of the back side. Mailed to Switzerland in 1932 -- isn't that a beautiful Paris cancellation?!

At the end of the OWOH event on Feb. 17, one winner will be chosen. If I can figure out how to use the random generator thingamajig, I'll do that. If not, the old 'name in the hat' routine will do:)
