It's OK to be obsessive about something if you have talented friends in high places like I do! Kathy of Vintage Catnip graciously volunteered to 'free' my American peacock stuck in the Seattle cancellation mark -- the one I wrote about on Wednesday that I just HAD to put in my bird egg collage.
After several hours of cleaning, cloning and working her Kathy magic, she sent me this:
Remerciements, Kathy! Then I went spastic and searched through my stash for a French white peacock postcard I remembered I had ... somewhere ...
And then I let my obsession take over once again. I obsessed a lot about what kind, if any, French text, I wanted to add. There were several nominees but finally I settled on a menu. (Don't worry, no baked "paon" on the menu.) I added one postage stamp. My favorite overlay from Shadowhouse Creations. A little embossing. Tweak here. Alter that. And wow, before I knew it 8 hours had passed, my arm was killing me (why does having so much fun have to hurt?) and I had created a new breed of peacock that changes colors like a chameleon. And this time, I don't have to ask: Can they see the peacock? I know it's a peacock, but can they tell it's a peacock?
At last count, I've got 9 varieties:) You can check 'em all out here: http://www.zibbet.com/FrenchKissed/artwork?artworkId=668670Have a great weekend! Next week I'm gonna share a "new" kind of antique postcard I just discovered plus take you on a mini-virtual trip to southern France near the Pyrenees ....
