Gift-bearer at the Window!

FRENCHKISSED update: These freebies are no longer available but check in my Zibbet and Etsy stores! I am immune to the frenzy of the holidays because ... I don't do 'em:) Yes, I'm a grinch. However, for anyone out there who is scrambling at the last minute, looking for just a little special something they can 'throw together,' I thought this French postcard would be perfect. Who can go wrong with birds? And this little bird is bearing a gift for the new year: a lucky clover.
The simplicity of this design lends itself to so much customization. You can paint, watercolor, bead, glitter and any other kinda frou-frou touch -- or not. I mean, really, just add a ribbon and it's a winner, don't you think?
My original unused card is, of course, the one with the French Happy New Year (Bonne Annee) greeting. But here's a blank version and one in sepia, too.
Now, I don't mean to rush off, but I know you're busy too, so I'm gonna be brief (and besides, Blogger is doing weird things!)
I spent the weekend in Paris (thanks to Claude Izner's mystery "Murder at the Eiffel Tower":) and I really wanna go back. But before I do my time-travel to 1890s Paris again, I'm going to get a pot of my favorite winter soup simmering on the stove: kale, italian sausage, black-eyed peas, onions, carrots, cabbage......

Such a sweet image - thank you so much! When it comes to Christmas, you and I must be kindred spirits. I am not only immune to all the craziness, I don't shop at all. Our son and his family get a check, I send out cards, put up a simple little tree, and that's it. I figure we already have so much stuff that to buy more would be redundant. Here's to a simple country Christmas. I send Christmas blessings from here on Windy Hollow Farm. 8-)

I too try not to get caught up in the frenzy of Christmas - a quiet, thoughtful, time of peace with God is what I want. Not enough of it during the year for sure.
Merry Christmas dear Trishia, I wish for you dear friend, lots of love in the coming year!
Brenda
thanks for all the images, love each and every one!

Sweet and charming..you know I'm for the birds!! My shopping has mostly been online..what I didn't create myself. Not as much of that got done as I had planned..so there will be some January surprises..(or Feb.) sent out. Been baking up a storm and that's what the kids/grandkids look forward to the most. Hope you have a merry Christmas in your newly re-done home.
