I was looking for a Paris street scene. As a bonus, I thought I had found a torrid romance. Well, at the very least, I thought I had found a boyfriend laying it on thick so he'd be back in the good graces of his sweetie. But it turns out that Auguste is Margaret's brother. And apparently, a hard-working one. When he sent her this postcard on July 5, 1903, he wrote:
My dear Marguerit, I apologize that I've not written earlier. You need to understand right now we have a lot of work. Tonight if I have a moment, I will write a letter. Waiting for the pleasure of seeing you. Embrace all the family well for me, your brother who loves you and hugs you wholeheartedly, Auguste.
(Sorry if you don't like orange; can you tell I just discovered a new gadget on Blogger?:)
This is not to say, however, that a good brother is not worth his weight in gold and in some cases. worth more than any old boyfriend:)
A Little Bird Told Me by Daqadoodles

I am catching up on some comments left on my blog that apparently didn't get to my email box. A couple of folks said they were not able to grab my button to post on their blog; some kind of 'disabled' message. May I please ask you to try it again?
I know that Debbie in The Netherlands was able to successfully post my button because it's now on her blog, looking like a Christmas tree with all the red against her green background. If you haven't met Debbie, I sure hope you will go visit her.
Her blog is called Daqadoodles. You will fall in love with her cat, Charlie, and you will find lots of great craft ideas -- like that beauty of a card you see above. Yes, that's one of my FrenchKissed images, so of course, I'm a bit biased:) This card was the FIRST time Debbie had ever used digital scans. Can you believe it?
When she put in her order, she explained that she might not even use the image, since she wasn't experienced working with digital scans and maybe she'd just use it as a pretty image on her screensaver. She had found my blog via Lynne at Adorn and wanted to "sponsor" me. hehe! I feel like I've been adopted. Isn't that the sweetest?! When I think of sponsoring someone, I think of Sally Struthers pleaing with us to help feed the starving children in Africa. I'm more of a poster child for Weight Watchers -- I'm the "before" photo that never changes:) Anyway, I love Debbie's turn of the phrase "sponsor" and am honored to have met her through her blog. She does double duty, writing in Dutch and in English.

PS: I have your button.hope you will post mine as well !
I love this scene too! Is this one of the uncared for cards? I like the cards with writing for digital layering, the writing adds a touch of humanity and interest.
Thank you for the intro to Debbie’s blog; I’ll go check her out!
Wow, what an honour! *blush* This is better then winning a challenge :)
A little background information about my usage of the word "sponsor", as it could be offensive to some while I definetaly don't intend it that way.
It all originated some years ago when talking about big chains of stores vs the litle independent ones. Many goods are cheaper at the big stores, and it's easier because you can get everythingsin one place. But it also makes the choices less, as most of the time each store of the chain has the same goods.
The little independent stores sometimes are more expensive, but imo you pay for the service, the variation of products, the uniqueness of the store, the... i don't know. So when talking about wether where to buy goods, I prefer my money to go to independent, unique stores. I don't want to sponsor the big stores (as is the case with goods you know are overpriced). Ofcourse, we buy a lot at big stores because it's convenient and cheaper, but we do try to "sponsor" the indepentend little unique stores by doing our shoppings there as well.
Furthermore, I changed my blog language to English, as I was lazy / didn't have enough time to translate everything. I noticed because of all the english blogs I read I wrote easier in English, so that is the main language. Occasionally I will still translate, but not all posts. Most Dutch people know english, more then English speaking ones know Dutch ;).
I managed to grab your button because I know some html - I couldn't paste the code into wordpress so had to cut it up. (Link to the image, set the size, and enter the link to your page.)
Thanks again for writing about me!
Oh and ofcourse thanks for the streetscene!
Debbie,
Many of us in America have the same loyalty to small, independent stores. Where you use the word "sponsor" we would say "support." It is a very fine line of difference in the English meaning. As the French would say, Pas de probleme. I certainly wasn't offended and I knew you did not mean it that way either. Hence, my joke at myself about being chubby/overweight:)
When I visited Brugges 10 years ago, I was so impressed -- I met many people who spoke 3-4 languages. I have tried for years to learn French. It is so hard!ha! I envy your ability to be fluent in so many languages.
Love the postcard...and thank you for sharing other blog's ideas, art, etc...blogland is a wonderful world!
I still can't get your button. It says the function is disabled. I know you said someone else had it on hers but...not working for me :(
THANK YOU for the beautiful street scene here, Trishia! It's wonderful! LOVE seeing the art by others, too!

One more thing...
Your button works fine on my blog!
So I'm wondering if this is ANOTHER Blogger issue??? They are, after all, in the throws of changing over to Google. I have heard several people are having problems with sidebar items... I haven't been able to get my "followers" html to work for months (WHY does everyone else's work????). Anyway, this could also be the problem. :(

Merci Trishia! I love the script on this great street scene. It feels like you are there peeking around the corner at some intrigue about to unfold! And you make it so easy to visit the other blogs! I adored Adore! (Total pun intended!)
How wonderful that Debbie found FKP. She left a message for me to say that she had placed an order with you but hadn't used digital scans before and wasn't sure what to do next. Well looking at her card you could never guess it was her first go with scans. Bravo to Debbie.
Wishes
Lynne
This is a wonderful street scene. I love the handwriting on it, too. Your button is now on my blog's sidebar, but I really don't get a lot of traffic. Every little bit counts, right?
