However, as a mother tends to overlooks the faults of her adorable brats running loose like the Devil's spawn, I realize that I, too, tend to see my postcards through a lens of bias.
SO....as you help yourself to these downloads, please offer your honest critique. Don't be afraid to say, "Trishia, this image sucks! Whatever were you thinking?!!" The more specific you can be, the better. What exactly, specifically, sucks about it?
It's not my job to have all the fun with an image, but if it calls for it, I wanna do whatever it takes for others to see its potential. Like in the above example, looking at Marie critically, I decided she had a bad case of jaundice (liver problems? tipping the sauce too much?) and that perhaps a black border would help the pink pop out ....
Is it the background of brown trees that hinders this beauty from getting noticed?
Does she need to be cut out?
Is there no hope for this Paris collage?? I love the classic color combination of red, black and white.
But does the stamp ruin it? Perhaps I need to turn the script right side up:)?
I love my litte safari boy. Alas, I think he's been abandoned to the hyennas. Can you hunt him down and show his true potential?
When I touch a century-old postcard and can still feel the white dots of paint added, I'm impressed. But perhaps in the digital world, it doesn't work well? Should I remove the white dots and brush marks? I think she's so pretty but my lavender lady has been lonely too long. She needs some lovin'!
I literally worked for hours in Photoshop restoring my cute bathing beauty. Yet, she's sitting on the dock of the bay, totally ignored.
In the meantime, please keep submitting your KISSED AGAIN! entries! Deadline is the end of this month. Details posted at top of my blog.
I'll be sharing the March "Love Me Two" entries later this week also. I can assure you: the participants are going to receive some marvelous art! So once again, please spread the word about the contests.
Quick question: What amount of time do you usually like to work on a contest? Is one month long enough. Would 2 weeks or 6 weeks be better? Right now -- unless I hear back from you advising differently -- I'm going to put the APRIL "Love Me Two" deadline as April 23, that's 5 weeks away, a week past TAX day here in the US.
