Mes amies, so much I wanna catch up with you
about (as usual!) But I thought that to start the week, I'd go back
to an old habit of mine: posting a free scan on Mondays.
I've come across this blonde-headed girl
in a few other postcards. The rose front and center is
covering up her Kirk Douglas-style dimple in her chin.
This card was mailed in 1905 from Marie to Anna in Marseille.
Here is a copy of the original:
Please excuse me. I REALLY did intend
to stay off my soapbox today:)
I figured y'all have listened to me bitch enough
about the "Etsy ordeal".
But I don't know...is it an age thing?
Do we just naturally bitch more as we get older?
Perhaps the new French word I learned recently explains it well.
Deja-Poo
It's that feeling you get that you've heard this crap before!:)
At my age, I heard and seen so much crap that I've lost my patience!
And so I post the original for a special someone I met on a forum
recently who expressed indignation over people like me
who have the audacity to disable right click copy on images because,
as she said, "they are copyright free and I'm not violating any rules.
It's not like I'm doinganything illegal."
To which I replied, "You violated my pocketbook,
because you just stole from me and my livelihood."
So honey, you take that original one, OK?
It's copyright free and it's just for you!
:)
For all of my regular faithful readers and customers,
I'm happy to share the cleaned up, altered versions.
I spent 2+ hours working with 5 different layers in Photoshop
trying to restore the coloring and contrast in this image
to show its beauty to the max, as well as
remove a century of specks, dots and dirt.
It's still not perfect, but ...
This version is soft and dreamy.
This version is my fav 'cause I love sepia and pink combined!
Now, I was really hoping for more votes in the Kissed Again! 3-D category and considered waiting another week. BUT ... I held an impromptu meeting of all FrenchKissed employees (1:) and me, myself and I voted. We decided that we needed to move this contest forward. SO without further ado,
1) People's Choice Award First Place
The Paris souvenir book goes to Wendee Deal of Iowa.
2) Trishia's Perogative Second Place
A surprise bundle of a dozen antique French postcards
goes to Marj Meikrantz of Idaho.
A $35 FrenchKissed Gift Certificate goes to
Brenda Meade of Maryland.
Miss Wendee and Miss Marj, please email me your snail mail addy!

Thank you so much.... she is adorable.
Love this little gal..and her flowers. Might work nicely into a Mother's Day card. Thank you so much for honoring me with the 2nd place prize.. I totally look forward to my postcards.
I don't understand why people think you should give your hard work away for free...maybe if they had something they'd worked hard on stolen right from under their nose they'd have a different opinion. But I'd guess they don't see that it's stealing. I think you're "bitching" is well deserved.
Trishia - this image is adorable! I love your cleaned up image the best ;-) Merci beaucoup xx
Oh, Trishia, you make me laugh so much!
“Deja-poo”!!!!
Such audacity on the part of whoever thinks they have a right to anything... sheesh! Bums!
Congratulations to all the winners! Yay! Very exciting :-)))
I love this one! Thanks for the extra versions, too. It's a wonder sometimes, they must not really hear what they are saying, or realize how dumb that makes them sound to say something so ridiculous!
