Talk about a melange of the mind!
I love my little boy in blue on the swing
and as I cleaned and cloned,
I kept thinking of Blue Boy,
the famous painting by Thomas Gainsborough --
although my cutie is much more casually attired --
and I kept repeating John Greenleaf Whittier's poem
"Barefoot boy with cheeks of tan" --
although my sweetie is not barefoot
and his cheeks are more pink than tan.
Despite all my unconnected connections,
I hope you connect in some way with my little boy in blue
and find a place for him in your art fun!

My original postcard was a little worse for wear
as you can see. HATED that red stamp!
So I had to do some 'tweaking.'

In the download below,
you'll see he's got a dreamier, softer look.
That's courtesy of Pixlr's special effects.

And for better or worse, in this version
I attempted to liven up the rather drab studio backdrop
with a touch of green.

Also for your artistic fun,
I'm including a scan of the back side.
There are a couple of words I can't make out.
There are a couple of words I can't make out.
Perhaps someone else can help in the interpretation.

Well, summer officially started for me yesterday. The Hubby and I enjoyed our first swim of the year in the delightful 88 degree salt-water pool at our complex. My daughter is coming over shortly to join me for today's dip -- and I'll likely do double-dipping since playing in the pool is so good for my arm. Zut alors, it will be 6 months tomorrow that the ice and I had a collision, breaking my forearm. My arm will likely be getting much more exercise in the next few weeks packing BOXES 'cause it looks like The Hubby and I may be moving toward the Big City by next month. Those of you who have been reading my blog know that last fall we had a false start heading in that direction, so mum's the word till I know for SURE:)
In the meantime, congratulations to ANN DIVELBISS of California. She is the winner of two free scans for her lucky No. 8 comment made last week. Ann, just email me the titles/links to two scans you'd like, picking from either one of my shops, your choice, $3.99 or under:)
Help yourself to this week's freebies, leave a comment and you might be next week's winner!

your little boy in blue is DARLING!! and i love what you did with him!! i'm with you..that red stamp is terrible!! how you fix that is beyond my knowledge(by a ton!)..and you do it so well! i never would have known it was there if you hadn't told us!!
My mom had copies of Blue Boy and Pinkie hanging in her living room..along with the most beautiful portrait of Jenny Lind!
a salt water pool..how cool is that!!
it does take a long time for breaks to heal...the pool should be great therapy!!!

I'll be in touch...enjoy your visit with your daughter!!!

Hello Trishia
Such cuteness, thank you for this freebie. I am not managing to do as much creating at the moment due to life but lovely to know I have little boy blue at my disposal.
Let's hope this isn't another false start and you and your DH make the move next month.
Wishes
Lynne
P.S. Will be in contact soon.
Such a cute boy!
As for the sentence..
Could it be something like this:
La maison on a renvoyez une ..? soixantieme?
oh wait, la maison on a renvoyez une soixant annee?
I don't get that last word. And only if you know that word you can fill in the meaning of renvoyer, as it has many meanings (getting something back).
The house got another 6 year (rent?) back? The house received a ... something? 6-tonner? damage? makeover?
Hmmmm. Interesting.
What if la maison is part of the previous sentence: all is ok with the house?
And then: back in a sec? (en a renvoyer: a return, and then soixantieme: a sixty-th?
Now I need to know....and to all others: write clearly when you send a postcard, you never know if someone is trying to decipher it in 100 years!
88 degree salt water pool? Practically a spa! Glad your arm is on the mend. Thank you for the précieux petit garçon. Hope I get back into the swing of things soon. (;
Love the boy in the swing. I'm jealous of your pool! Since it's salt water, does that mean they are using the salt to clean or is there still chlorine, too? I'm not sure I've ever heard of a salt water pool in an apartment complex before. Enjoy your double dip! Swimming is my best exercise, and I'm pining for an Endless Pool. I got another ad in the mail from them yesterday that I've been drooling over! Since I'm allergic to chlorine, I'm unable to go to most regular pools. That's one reason I adore us having the family lake house access right now!
Just got back from my trip and glad that I could save this beautiful boy on his oh so lovely swing. Moving... best of luck.. and glad it's not me!!!! Ha.
